Super Dungeon Explore: Death Spectre

Plastic "chibi"-style miniature manufactured by Soda Pop Miniatures / CoolMiniOrNot, as a "boss" model from the "Von Drakk Manor" expansion for the Super Dungeon Explore fantasy-themed board game. I painted this up in acrylics, trying to match the look on the card that came with the figure.

He kind of looks silly with the uber-sized hood, but I still had a lot of fun painting the figure anyway; the purple contrasts nicely with the yellow-orange-gold trim, I think, and I got a better-than-expected effect with the green-grey highlights on the brown "living scythe," along with the "glowing pink" effects around the eye. (The weapon has EYES. How freaky is that? ;D )

This miniatures set actually belongs to a friend of mine who can afford to buy all this stuff. I'm just helping by painting things up. His cat, Pixel, is actually (barely) visible between the pillars to the left, sitting up on a "cat tree" in the background. (As a matter of trivia, Pixel happens to be the cat who served as a model for the "Cat" entry in the bestiary for the Savage Worlds Deluxe RPG book for Pinnacle Entertainment. So he's kind of a celebrity, I guess. Sort of. Hey, we take what we can get.)
