Sci-Fi Corridors - Work in Progress

Work in progress on sci-fi/cyberpunk scenery -- "maintenance corridors." Most of these consist of pieces of foam-core illustration board as a base, with Fluoroware wafer trays (from a surplus store) or sections of plastic cross-stitch grid for flooring, and then edged with Hirst Arts Castlemolds castings ("Industrial Edging #325") made from hydrostone casts, painted with acrylic craft paints, and supplemented with various "signage" and caution stripes and such printed at 600 dpi.

Central piece is a platform from a broken/incomplete Toy Story play set, supplemented with some plastic textured pieces, a Tehnolog/Robogear "Platformer" panel, a "neon green" dome cap cover from a water bottle, and a couple of translucent blue plastic sections of tubing from a broken "tangle toy" -- largely consisting of bits accumulated from a local thrift store, glued together and painted up. For scale, I have assorted figures (approximately 32mm scale -- or around 34-35 mm from base of feet to top of head) painted up from my upcoming cyberpunk/sci-fi campaign; most of those figures are manufactured by Reaper Miniatures (with the one with green hair manufactured by WizKids/Topps).

These passages will be used as terrain pieces to set up for any miniatures battles that occur in the assorted "maintenance corridors" of a massive asteroid mining station on Ceres, for a cyberpunk-themed Interface Zero (Savage Worlds RPG) campaign.

I plan on adding more "holo screens" with pieces of "neon" translucent plastic salvaged from assorted items I picked up at the thrift store, once I do a bit of Dremel-cutting to make up some more panels. While I tried painting "techno-lines" on the interior of the "holo-dome" piece by hand, I think for the other "holo projection" panels, I'm going to rely on etching (with the Dremel or with a hobby knife) instead, to try to get a more regular, less blotchy look. This calls for some experimentation to see what effect works best.
